Silvia Evangelisti

Silvia Evangelisti is an art historian, curator and art critic who has taught at the Fine Arts Academy in Bologna since 1986. From 1983 to 2004 she was a correspondent for Il Giornale dell'Arte. Since 2003 she has been the artistic director of Arte Fiera - Art First in Bologna, although her work for Arte Fiera began in 1988 as an artistic consultant.
She has published numerous essays on 18th century painting, but has also curated exhibitions and catalogues, as well as publishing work on 20th century artists. In addition to her work on historical artists, she has always been active in the field of contemporary art, curating exhibitions, organising prizes and publishing numerous works on the artists and movements of recent generations. She often lectures on the subject of modern and contemporary art in Italy and abroad, for institutions such as the University of Bologna, the Roberto Longhi Foundation in Florence, FAI and the Modern Art Gallery of Bologna. From 2000 to 2005 she worked as a consultant for the Ministery of Universities and Scientific and Technological Research.
