During the last edition of the festival of Contemporary art, dedicated to biennials, we celebrated Massimiliano Gioni's appointment as curator of the Gwangju Biennial, together with the man himself, who was a speaker at the first and second editions of the festival. The Biennial is due to open to the public on 3 September and the theme and the artists taking part have just been announced.
Entitled 10,000 Lives, the 8th Biennial will be "an investigation of the relationships that bind people to images and images to people". More than a hundred artists will take part in the event, including Keren Cytter, an Israeli artist who will also be in a panel with Marinella Paderni at OPERE/works, the third edition of the festival of Contemporary art, Hito Steryl and the Italians Maurizio Cattelan, Franco Vaccari and Roberto Cuoghi.
