The festival of Contemporary art will be in Frankfurt for the Luminale, a European biennial festival dedicated to the culture of lighting. With this appointment the pavilion Via...ggiando continuing its journey. The pavilion was designed by Mario Nanni and was conceived as a laboratory of ideas and projects bringing the festival of Contemporary art to some of the most important places and events dedicated to contemporary art in Europe with the aim to promote occasions of promoting meeting opportunities in the run up to OPERE/works (Faenza, 21st 23rd May).
The pavilion will be in the centre of Frankfurt from the 11 to the 16 April in Roßmarkt Platz. During this leg talks and events will be staged and will involve some speakers from the world of contemporary art and design.
On 11 April Mario Nanni presents "La luce della musica - the light of the music", an extraordinary light project realized in occasion of the first opening at the Theatre La Scala in Milan.
On 12 and 15 April, Dean Skira and Isabell Feest, international architects and designers will be on board to present their projects.
On 13 April, the festival will invite Jean-Christophe Ammann on board, he will present the general catalogue dedicated to Alighiero Boetti. Jean-Christophe Ammann is the scientific director of the catalogue, published by Electa.
The catalogue was presented for the first time at the Maxxi and is the first book on the overall production of Alighiero Boetti, screening artworks from 1962-1971, showing an international interest in one of the most important Italian artists. It was curated by the Alighiero Boetti Archive with the support of a scientific committee formed by Achille Bonito Oliva, Laura Cherubini, Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev and Giorgio Verzotti and represent the beginning of a research which has the aim of certifying Boetti's entire, huge production.
On the 14 April the gallerist Anita Beckers will be on board. She is the owner of the homonymous gallery in Frankfurt who will be interviewed on the relationship between the symbolic and the economic value of artworks, but also on her work of promotion of artworks at an international level.
All the talks will take place at 8pm.
