Conceptual art has become a fundamental element of contemporary culture influencing cinema, music and popular culture. It played an explosive groundbreaking role during the 1960s and 1970s thanks to the innovative work of Robert Barry, Douglas Huebler, Joseph Kosuth, and Lawrence Weiner. Carlos Basualdo, Alexander Alberro (an art historian and author of Conceptual Art and the Politics of Publicity) and Seth Siegelaub (active during the 1960s period and who has since founded the Stichting Egress Foundation) will talk about the main themes.
