Precursor of Pop Art and of video art, Martial Raysse is currently preparing a major retrospective at the Centre Pompidou. The film by Martial Raysse, one of the key figures of the Nouveau Realism movement, aim to be for film what insomnia is for sleep (M. Raysse). The aim to leave the viewer with the sense of loss in a journey which goes back to the roots of Mediterranean culture, from the epic poems of the Iliad and the Odyssey to Christian religious traditions and to the development of new technologies.
