The International Ceramics Museum of Faenza offers the biggest ceramics collection in the world, showing its culture, the evolution of production techniques and the transformation of the decorative art, first into figurative art, and then into sculpture and design. The exhibition area of the Museum is currently about 6,000 square metres, with over 3,500 works that can be viewed as part of the exhibition itinerary.
From an international perspective, next to great Italian and European works from the Renaissance, there are also important sections dedicated to pre-Columbian America, Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, the Near East and the Middle East, and Islamic ceramics. Contemporary art, from both Italy and abroad, is represented by the top artists of the 20th century.
