Artissima 17, the international fair of contemporary art based in Turin, is going to open its observatory dedicated to galleries at the top because of their reputation, the quality of proposals and the artists they involve. Under the direction of Francesco Manacorda, the fair will host in the Oval Lingotto’s new spaces about 130 galleries selected among the most up-to-date and interesting ones of the international art market.
The 2010 edition will present many changes and innovations, such as "Back to the Future", the new section which aims to investigate and attract attention of professionals, collectors and the general public on international artists active in the 1960s and 1970s. Besides, "Present Future", the format which presents young artists and galleries looking at the most significant emerging creativity, will be back also this year. The festival of Contemporary art will be at Artissima on Sunday 7 November at 6.30 p.m. at the "Meeting Point" area with the aim to introduce together with the scientific board, friends and special guests, its fourth edition, entitled “Forms of collecting/Forme della committenza” (Faenza, from 20 to 22 May 2011).
