Achille Bonito Oliva

He is a History of Contemporary Art professor at the La Sapienza University in Rome. He was the director of the 45th Venice Biennale Punti Cardinali dell'arte (1993). For the Venice Biennale he curated numerous international exhibitions, including Arte e Natura, la natura dell'arte (1978), L'arte negli anni '70 and Aperto (1980), Transavanguardia Italiana (1988), Ubi Fluxus Ibi Motus (1990), Basquiat a Venezia (1999), L'Isola Interiore (2005, 2007).He curated Partecipazione Italiana and Mostra Internazionale for the Paris Biennial in 1971 and 1985; La Transavanguardia Italiana for the Sydney Biennial; the Dakar Biennial (1988); Europa Occidentale for the São Paulo Biennial in 1996; Il corpo dell'arte and La ciudad radiante for the Valencia Biennial in 2001 and 2003. He contributes to La Repubblica e Il Giornale dell'Arte.
